About
Welcome to "Little Taste of Britain," a delightful culinary gem nestled in Layton, Utah. If you're craving authentic British fare, this eatery is your gateway to the flavors of the UK. Located at 768 W 1425 N, the atmosphere inside is as inviting as the menu items are nostalgic, making it a unique spot in the area.
At Little Taste of Britain, every dish tells a story. Take, for instance, the sausage roll. Customers have raved about its savory allure, complemented perfectly by crispy beer-battered fries. One review from Rick M captures this sentiment beautifully: he described the experience as unexpectedly delightful, especially the curry, which resembled a comforting gravy with a hint of sweetness. It's these small details that ensure each dish resonates with those who may have never set foot in Britain but yearn for a taste of its culinary traditions.
But the menu doesn't stop there. Diners can also indulge in a plate of fish and chips, which have earned high praise for their authentic preparation. Visitors like Kraziek13 noted that the chips are resilient enough to absorb vinegar without losing their crunch, a hallmark of genuine British cuisine. Meanwhile, Paul Ricketts appreciated the juxtaposition of size and flavor in the fish and shrimp, both deep-fried to perfection, promising a satisfyingly indulgent meal.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Little Taste of Britain enhances the experience. Reviewers have mentioned the friendly service, where staff members truly care about your dining experience. It’s clear that the passion of the owner resonates throughout the establishment, providing not just meals but memories. There’s also a charming shop area, stocked with authentic British and European candies, where nostalgia meets taste, inviting you to explore your childhood favorites.
As a food reviewer for Foodjoyy, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Little Taste of Britain. Whether you’re a Brit longing for home or a curious local wanting to explore new tastes, this eatery promises not just food, but a heartfelt journey into British culture. It’s not just lunch or dinner; it’s a small taste of Britain waiting to be savored.
“ I’ve never been to Britain but this was good. I ordered a sausage roll, chips/fries and a side of curry. I wasn’t sure what to expect with the curry but it came out more like a gravy than anything else. It had a mildly sweet flavor. The cashier was also superbly courteous and helpful. He is to be commended. Definitely would come back here. ”
“ What a cool place! Definitely different than most restaurants in the area. Fries were beer battered with a great flavor. The sausage were a bit small but had good flavor on them, kinda of breakfast sausage flavor. Fried mushrooms were good too! The fish, while seemingly pricey, were definitely large enough to justify the price and also tasted pretty good. Shrimp were large and, yet again, good. They're all deep fried (save for the sausage) so be prepared for that. Service is quick and friendly. Nice atmosphere and a lot of cool things to look at while you're waiting for your food. ”
“ One of my favorite restaurants in Utah. It is a quick serve restaurant where you order at a counter, but the food quality is as good quality as a sit-down restaurant. Staff are friendly and care about their customers having a good experience. The owner is also very passionate about her work. In addition to the food, there are several shelves selling authentic British and European candy, with the original packaging and everything. Definitely worth checking out and giving a try. ”
“ Absolutely amazing, being from England the fish was great and they used the correct chips that can handle a bath of vinegar and stay crunchy, the shop inside had everything from my childhood, Absolutely recommend making a stop when you're in the Salt Lake area. ”
“ I loved this place! I lived in England during college and have missed it ever since, and this place brought back the memories. The fish and chips were to die for and tasted just like they do in Leicester. I appreciated the little shop of British snacks and Princess Diana area as well! ”
“ Been craving this place for months finally took a wrong turn and ended up close so why not lol. Had the fish and chips. Portions were reasonable, the fish was crispy and fresh but lacked flavor for my taste. Their fountain water has a not so pleasant taste, either buy a bottle water or take ur own water. Also they have side dressing for 25cents extra. Plenty of tables and open spaces. I would try this place again but will order something different. ”
“ Wow!! We enjoyed our food so much, we went back the next day. The food is deep fried and there are a few choices besides fish. There was also shrimp and chicken. There is also an area where you can buy packaged British foods such as candy, drinks and other things. The staff was super nice and helpful!!! You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. I love some of their signage. Plenty of parking. ”
“ Recently I’ve been coming here almost weekly. I can’t get enough of their senior special. It’s just over 10 bucks and is so delicious. A piece of fish and some fries. Today my server mentioned this was a great way to start the day and and I heartily agreed. I’m officially addicted. ”
